Time to update your safety program? Need a complete written program or subparts? First, check with your trade association, many have programs tailored towards your operations. Second, check with your insurance carrier, most have generic safety programs and they are free. Third, copy one then modify it (see below). Nobody sits down and writes a safety program. Fourth, buy one. Lots of companies sell generic programs on disk which can be modified. But no matter how you get one, don't just fill in the blanks with a company name and throw it on the shelf. If you don't have a safety professional working for you, use a safety consultant familiar with your type of operations and work with them to modify and implement the program.
